RefWorks

A guide to getting started with and using RefWorks

What is RefWorks?

Refworks is a web-based reference management service that allows you to import references from online databases and other various sources. You can use these references in writing papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography in seconds.

RefWorks offers a way to collect, manage and organize research papers and documents.  You can read, annotate, organize, and cite your research as well as collaborate with friends and colleagues by sharing collections.

RefWorks’ drag and drop capability along with its smart document recognition makes it easy and fast to upload documents and bibliographic metadata into your library and the Save to RefWorks feature allows you to capture research from websites with the click of a button. From simple bibliographies to papers formatted with in-text citations or footnotes, RefWorks handles it all.

If you are a first-time user of RefWorks, go to "Getting Started with RefWorks" to set up your account.

If you have been using legacy RefWorks, go to "Migrating to New RefWorks" to learn about your options.
