What is ILL and who can use it?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows patrons to obtain materials not available in our library or through Summit. Requested materials may include books, media, journal articles, microfilm, microfiche, etc.  Current students, faculty, staff, retired Puget Sound faculty, and academic partners are eligible for this service.

What is Tipasa?

Tipasa is a cloud-based Interlibrary loan management system that automates routine borrowing and lending functions for individual libraries. Tipasa system is built on the OCLC WorldShare technology platform and takes advantage of the world's largest resource sharing network. 

  • Tracks the current status of all your ILL requests online 24 hours a day.
  • Provides electronic delivery of copies.
  • Provides online renewals.
  • Sends, edits or cancels your ILL requests online.
  • Forwards Proquest, Ebsco, Worldcat and other database requests into Tipasa automatically.
  • Forwards blank form requests for loans and copies into Tipasa automatically.
