Course Reserves - Faculty

Course Reserves - Students

What are Reserves?

  • The reserve collection consists of assigned readings placed on short-term loan at faculty request.   Our reserve collection currently consists of only books.  There are no media items or photocopies on reserve.  If you are in search of assigned readings such as articles and chapters that you believe to be on reserve, please check your Canvas courses.

How do I find what's on reserve for my class?

  • The reserve collection is open, browsable, and shelved by course number.  It is located at the front of the Learning Commons on the main floor of the library to the left of the Circulation Office.

How long can I keep reserves?

  • Loan periods are assigned by the faculty member and include library use only, 1-day, 2-day, or 3-day.

Can I renew reserves?

What if I need a reading, but the book is listed as library use only?

  • If a reserve book is listed as library use only, you may use the public scanner to scan the pages you need free of charge.  The public scanner is housed in Lib114 on the main floor of the library near the Learning Commons computers.
    • You can scan the pages you need and email them to yourself.
    • You can scan the pages you need and save them to a personal flash drive.

How much are fines?

  • The library no longer charges fees for overdue items.  However, there are replacement fees for lost or damages items.
