Usage Statistics & Renewals: Significant Price Increase

Guidelines and central location for usage statistics of electronic resources.

Significant Price Increase

This typically refers to Harrassowitz print and electronic subscriptions. Harrassowitz contacts us with a notice if a journal title we subscribe to has a price increase greater than 7%. Currently, the emails are sent to Carmel Thompson and Andrea Klyn. Andrea contacts the liaison about the price increase with details about the subscription. The information about the price increase is included on the Periodical Significant Price Increase spreadsheet. After the liaison responds, Andrea renews or cancels the title with Harrassowitz.

On the next two tabs are examples of the emails sent to liaisons in regards to significant price increases.

If there is a subscription, outside of Harrassowitz, that has a significant price increase use the next tabs as an outline to contact the appropriate person to make a decision about renewal.

Here is the outline for the email sent to liaisons for significant price increases for electronic materials.

A new spreadsheet is created each year. It is saved in the shared folder here: newlibdata/Periodicals/(Year).

In the decision column, if a decision has not been received from a liaison, the cell is highlighted. In the Date Notified Harrassowitz column the cell is highlighted if the decision has not been sent to them yet. This makes it easy to know which actions need to be taken.

The information gathered is:
