Sound Writing is the official writing handbook on campus, written by student writing advisors and specifically tailored to the needs of Puget Sound students and their faculty.

Citation styles vary depending on the discipline of the course you're in. In history, the notes and bibliography option of Chicago style is common, while in philosophy the author-date option of Chicago style is often used. In sociology, the citation style might be Chicago author-date, or APA. Be sure to always check with your professor about which citation guide you should use!
