Primo Search FAQ

This FAQ is intended to answer general questions about Primo Search.

What is Primo Search?

Primo Search is used to find resources and materials in the Collins Library and Summit Libraries' collections. Find thousands of books, scholarly journal articles, streaming films, and more. Use the filters found on the right of your search results to refine your results by location, format, and many other criteria.

What does it search?

Select from the dropdown menu to limit or expand your search:

Collins+Summit+Articles

Searches Collins and Summit physical items, and many of the online resources and databases to which Collins subscribes to. Summit items can be requested and will arrive here in 2-3 days. Summit online resources and databases are not included in this search. While most content from our subscribed databases is in Primo, not all of it is, so searching databases directly is still recommended in order to view everything available!

Collins+Summit

Searches Collins and Summit physical items. This search also includes Collins online resources like ebooks and videos, but does not include online articles.

Collins

Searches only Collins items. Results will include ebooks, print books, cds, scores, DVDs, course reserves, government documents and more. Journal titles are searched; articles in the journals are not.

Archives+Special Collections

Searches only items available in our Archives & Special Collections, which is located on the second floor of the library. These books are non-circulating and may be viewed in our reading room only. All of the searches listed above include Archive items.

Note: If you are not finding an item in Primo Search you can try searching other libraries' collections in Worldcat. You can then request those items through Interlibrary Loan.
