This guide is intended to serve as a resource for students in Music 322: Dance in World Cultures as they complete their final project: a book review of a dance ethnography.
Your final assignment for the course returns to one of the core methods in the study of dance: ethnography. You will conduct an academic book review on a dance ethnography of your own choosing, published sometime in the past 20 years. You will locate the ethnography as an ebook or physical book in the Collins Memorial Library. Another alternative is for you to purchase the title from your local bookstore or online. You will read the entire book, and write your review in the style of book reviews that are written in academic journals, like Ethnomusicology and Dance Research Journal.
