Jane Carlin is Library Director at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. At Puget Sound she has focused on building an Archives & Special Collections program, developing a teaching collection of rare and unique materials, establishing a strong artists' book collection with a focus on regional artists, as well as expanding teaching programs. She has curated several book arts exhibits and has recently opened a Book Arts Studio in the Library. She encourages Puget Sound students to establish their own collections through support of the Book Club of Washington’s sponsorship of the Collegiate Book Collecting Contest.. She was the recipient of the Emory Award in 2020, given to a Washingtonian who has made a significant impact on the culture of the book. She says, she can't imagine a world without books!
